Tami Fratis is the owner of Tamarian Farms, and a gifted trainer and rider. Her experience and knowledge as a businesswoman and entrepreneur serves as the backbone of our mission that sets the standard for the entire team. 

A 20-year veteran investor and senior executive, Tami began her career as a principal at Safeguard Scientifics, where she handled sourcing, structuring, negotiating and conducting due diligence for 13 technology investments and tripled their earnings.  After Safeguard, she launched a global fund of funds for a family office that began with a portfolio of 7 investments, developing it to include 25 international investments in Russia, India, Spain, Singapore, and Romania. 

She also has P&L experience and has served as CEO or COO with multiple venture-backed companies. She holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from the University of Virginia, and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Women’s Venture Capital Network.

A passionate and accomplished equestrian, Tami has competed in national and international events, earning recognition as a top athlete and receiving numerous awards for her skills and talent. After a long and successful business career, she wanted to make a change and pursue her lifelong dream of buying a horse farm and relocating from Philadelphia to Florida. 

It was practically by accident that she happened upon Ocala during a trip to the Sunshine State with her son, who was attending school in Orlando. The rolling, lush green hills and pastures, with its enormous population of 250,000 horses were an irresistible lure, and the World Equestrian Center was just about to throw open its gates.  To her, it felt like heaven on earth; the connection was powerful and instantaneous. Within six months, she had sold her Philadelphia home and purchased Tamarian Farms, embracing the gigantic life shift with her customary energy, drive, and dedicated focus.

The 60-acre property, with its five barns and serene setting is everything she wanted to realize her passion for equestrian pursuits. It’s a literal heaven on earth where the joy of horses can be shared and celebrated, and she can fully concentrate her energies on helping others achieve their goals, develop their skills, and thrive in a productive, nurturing environment.
